FAQ
How far in advance should I submit customs paperwork?
Two weeks before your move is a safe minimum; earlier in peak season. Submitting early reduces clearance delays and helps us confirm delivery windows with confidence.
Who needs to sign customs forms?
The owner of the goods (or authorized representative). Ensure names and passport numbers match travel documents.
Who needs to declare goods when moving to Canada?
Everyone bringing personal effects into Canada must declare them to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) on arrival, including “goods accompanying” and “goods to follow.”
What documents should I bring to clear household goods?
Passport, visa/permit (if applicable), proof of residency status, detailed inventory (with “goods to follow”), and any CBSA forms provided at the border.
Will CBSA inspect my shipment?
Inspections are possible. Proper labeling, clear inventories, and accurate declarations reduce delays.
What if I’m returning to Canada?
Returning residents may claim relief for goods previously exported from Canada and for used personal effects acquired abroad, subject to conditions. Keep proof of prior ownership/export where available.
Can you relocate pets internationally?
Yes. We handle pet relocations in partnership with specialized animal transport experts, ensuring your pet travels safely and comfortably while complying with all international regulations.
